To convey our values andaffirmourcommitmenttobiodiversity, we wanted more than just a catchy name. We neededa strong symbol, capable of honouringnature, its creative beauty, but also its vulnerability. Thus, we found it in the mountains between Vietnam and Laos withthe Saola: a small antelope nicknamed the Asian unicorn.
Discovered only 20 years ago and already threatened with extinction, this rare species is a true icon ofbiodiversity.

As a designer and manufacturer, we are aware of our impact.  

Our brand's primary objective is to develop eco-responsible footwear, by continuously innovating the materials that make up our products and their entire life cycle.

It is also to use our reputation to share our values and encourage consumers to follow us. And with Saola shoes on their feet, it's easy to follow our lead.  

Finally, it is to use our growth and donate a percentage of our profits to protect forests and endangered species by selecting reliable partners whose actions are measurable in the regions that need them most.

While we’re aware that this is a good way to make a positive change, it’s only the start and we won’t stop there. L'histoire de Guillaume, le fondateur

En 2018, Guillaume, 43 ans, marié et père de deux enfants a pris une décision insensée aux yeux de certains, mais riche de sens pour lui: il a choisi de quitter un poste confortable dans l'industrie de l’outdoor pour lancer une marque de chaussures. 

Mais pas n’importe quelle marque! 

De celle qui se démarque, par la mission environnementale qui lui colle aux basques.
Inspirée par son expérience, dictée par son engagement en faveur de la planète, elle est le symbole d’une écologie en marche, qui combine fabrication durable et soutien aux efforts de conservation de la biodiversité. Malgré les nuits blanches et les cheveux gris, l’engagement de Guillaume et de toute son équipe pour mener à bien la mission de SAOLA est toujours aussi fort
